You know what’s weird and eerily coincidental? (“What?”, you ask inquisitively.)
Exactly a week ago, I posted about discovering the Keane song “Somewhere Only We Know” right here on Tumblr. I basically talked about how I found — and consequently fell in love with — the song after hearing a clip of the lovely David Archuleta singing it for his upcoming (mostly) cover album. And what happened today? Kurt Schneider (who I also absolutely adore) posted this cover of the song on his YouTube channel.
Now, it’s not exactly like this song is new. It was released as a single in 2004, and Kurt tends to lean toward more recent pop (another thing “Somewhere Only We Know” certainly is not) songs to cover.
So what are the odds that, out of all the songs that exist in this universe, he picks the one that I’ve just been completely obsessed recently? It’s mind-boggling to me (and probably only me, but I just had to get this out of my system).
What makes this whole thing all the more strange is that I’d been considering requesting this song to Kurt for him/his friends to cover. But I thought, Nah … 1) He’ll never see my request, 2) Even if he does see it, what could possibly convince him to actually cover it?, and 3) The song’s not current enough. It’s just not going to happen.
Well, lo and behold … looks as though a request wasn’t necessary after all.

I already have two versions of this song on my iPod (Keane and Glee), but this version is… beautiful.

Haha I adore Kurt too. I tweeted him to ask if he liked David since the timing his releasing this cover was a month from...
